Vodafone, the second largest telecom operator in the country has announced a tie-up with Samsung India to offer smartphones at discounted prices. Vodafone says the partnership aims to make smartphones affordable to those upgrading from a feature phone. As part of the partnership, Vodafone will offer select Samsung 4G phones including Galaxy J2 Pro, Galaxy J7 Nxt and Galaxy J7 Max with a cashback of up to Rs 1,500. In order to avail this offer, Vodafone prepaid customers will have to recharge with Rs 198 per month for a period of 24 months. The Rs 198 monthly recharge will give the users unlimited voice calls and 1GB data per day. The offer is applicable as long as Vodafone users do any recharge cumulating to Rs 198 per month. The postpaid subscribers, on the other hand, need to subscribe to any of Vodafone’s Red plans to avail the cashback offer. The telecom service provider will offer cashback of Rs 600 at the end of first 12 months while another Rs 900 will be paid back after another 12 months. The cashback will be credited to users in their Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro, the entry-level smartphone with a market operating price of Rs 8,490 will be available at an effective price of Rs 6,990 after taking into account cashback of Rs 1,500 over a period of 24 months. The Galaxy J7 Nxt and J7 Max will be available at an effective price of Rs 8,990 and Rs 15,400, respectively after the cashback.
The cashback offer on Samsung smartphones is similar to the one offered by the operator in partnership with Micromax. Vodafone is offering Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra at an effective price of Rs 999 while the device is priced at Rs 2,899. The cashback offer on Samsung phones will be launched across different locations later this month.
