Telecom operator Vodafone India seems to be taking the fight to its competition as it launched a new prepaid plan for Rs 159. According to a report by TelecomTalk.info, this new plan is all set to take on the existing Rs 149 prepaid plans by Airtel and Reliance Jio. The plans in available across all its 4G circles as it has been introduced as an open market plan available for all users. As pointed by the report, as part of the plan, Vodafone is offering 28GB of 3G or 4G data along with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS messages per day.
The report also pointed out that as part of the plan, Vodafone does not really provide unlimited calls and has added a fair use policy where the unlimited calls are capped to 250 minutes per day which amounts to 4 hours and 10 minutes every day. This limit is 1000 minutes per week which is about 16.66 hours in a week which is less than the daily limit. In addition to all that, Vodafone has also limited the unlimited calls to 100 unique numbers in the 28 days of the validity of the plan. The 100 SMS limited is also not clearly implemented across all the Vodafone circles as pointed.

To compare the plan with the offerings by Reliance Jio and Airtel, Jio is offering 1.5GB data along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS messages per day. It also manages to offer unlimited calls without any limitation or FPU.
Moving to the plan offering by Airtel, Airtel manages to match Vodafone in terms of the data and SMS messages but it moves ahead when it comes to the call benefits. The reason for this is because Airtel also does not impose any FPU for unlimited calls. This Rs 159 plan by Vodafone comes days after the company launched new plans with 1.5GB data benefit every day.
