The price vs data war is far from over, and while the postpaid users were initially ignored, telcos are now offering billing plans with aggressive pricing and unlimited calls. Reliance Jio introduced the postpaid with attractive data benefits, and now telcos like Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone and Idea Cellular are giving it a tough fight. Vodafone recently refreshed its RED postpaid plans that offer benefits better than competing operators. The basic plan, which is only available on myVodafone app is priced at Rs 299 under which users get 20GB 3G / 4G monthly data, unlimited roaming, unlimited outgoing calls and free one-year subscription to Vodafone Play. The other plan is priced at Rs 399, which offers the same calling and roaming benefits as the Rs 299 plan. However, in terms of data, users get 40GB 3G / 4G data per month, and 200GB carry forward data. The plan also includes one-year subscription to Vodafone Play and one-year Amazon Prime membership.

Reliance Jio just has one postpaid plan which is priced at Rs 199. The plan offers unlimited local and national calling, unlimited national roaming and 100 free SMS per day. The plan comes with 25GB 4G data every month, and once the limit is crossed, users can still continue surfing at reduced speed of 64Kbps. Users also get free access to Jio app suite.
Bharti Airtel recently revamped its Rs 649 plan to offer 90GB 3G / 4G data per month, but the lower plans still offer the same benefits. The basic Rs 399 plan offers unlimited calls and roaming, along with 20GB data per month. The plan also includes a complimentary subscription to Wynk music service from Airtel.
Idea Cellular s basic postpaid plan is priced at Rs 389. Under this plan, you get unlimited local and national calls, 20GB 3G / 4G data and 3,000 SMS. The plan also includes national roaming at no extra cost.
Lastly, BSNL has a postpaid plan called Ghar Wapsi priced at Rs 399. The plan comes with 30GB 3G data, unlimited roaming and unlimited local and national calling. Sadly, the plan does not come bundled with free SMS.
Sure, the postpaid users are now getting higher benefits in sync with the prepaid offering. Among all the plans that are priced under Rs 400, Vodafone s offering has an upper hand, be it because of more data or bundled subscription offers.
