Vodafone has been rather quiet for some time now, especially after the merger with Idea Cellular. Now, the company has rolled out two new plans for its prepaid subscribers priced at Rs 99 and Rs 109. These new Vodafone plans will compete with rivals Airtel, BSNL and Reliance Jio. Both plans offer a validity of 28 days, along with unlimited calling benefit.

Unlike Airtel and Reliance Jio that offer truly unlimited calling without any FUP, the Vodafone plan limits voice calls to 250 minutes per day, and 1,000 minutes per week. Also, during the entire validity period, users can only make calls to 100 unique numbers. The Rs 109 plan also gives you 1GB of 3G/4G data, something that is missing from the Rs 99 plan, TelecomTalk reports.

Talking about competition, Airtel has a plan priced at Rs 99, which offers unlimited local and national calling, 100 local and national SMS, and 1GB 3G/4G data. Sadly, the plan comes with validity of 10 days. BSNL also has a plan priced at Rs 99 with 26 days validity, which offers unlimited voice calls to any network across India, expect for Mumbai and Delhi circles. However, it is just a voice only plan, and does not include any SMS or data benefits.

Lastly, Reliance Jio has a plan priced at Rs 98 which offers 28 days validity, 2GB 4G data, and unlimited calling without ant FUP. The plan also includes 300 text messages. Also, the plan includes complimentary access to Jio app suite, which includes the likes of JioTV, JioMovies and JioMusic among others.
