Vodafone is upping its game in the tariff war against Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Idea Cellular. The operator has is reportedly planning to introduce two new postpaid plans which will offer higher data quota per day. These plans are said to be priced at Rs 799 and Rs 549. They are likely to go live across Vodafone s popular circles in the coming days. Here’s a look at what benefits they will offer. As reported by TelecomTalk, Vodafone’s Rs 799 plan for prepaid subscribers will offer 4.5GB of daily data quota for a period of 28 days. This takes the total data quota to 126GB for the validity period. In addition to the high data quota, Vodafone is also offering unlimited local and STD calls, along with pan-India roaming as one of the benefits. This plan has been designed to take on Reliance Jio‘s prepaid plan worth the same value. In Jio’s plan, however, subscribers get slightly more data. With the Rs 799 Jio plan, you get a quota of 5GB data per day for the same validity period of 28 days. In addition, you also get voice calls including roaming and local/STD benefits, free SMS, and access to Jio suite of apps.
Vodafone Rs 549 data plan
With the Rs 549 plan, Vodafone prepaid subscribers will get 3.5GB of per day data quota which takes the total data offered to 98GB for the validity period of 28 days. You also get the same benefits as the other plan with unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calls and 100 free daily SMS for 28 days.
In comparison, Reliance Jio has a Rs 509 plan under which it offers a total of 112GB of data with a daily cap of 4GB data. This plan also has a validity of 28 days. Other benefits include 100 free SMS per day, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, along with the standard access to Jio suit of apps.
It is worth mentioning that Vodafone is also offering a free subscription to Vodafone Play to all the customers. However, the unlimited voice call benefit is in fact restricted to 250 minutes of voice calls per day and 1,000 minutes for a week. It is further restricted to only 300 unique numbers for the validity period. In contrast, Jio does not impose any restriction to the number of calls made.
