Vu, the home-grown television manufacturer, has launched its new range of Android-enabled TVs in India. The Mumbai-based manufacturer has launched three new televisions that will compete directly with Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4A and Mi TV 4 series.
The new televisions launched at an event in Bengaluru, include 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch models priced at Rs 36,999, Rs 46,999 and Rs 55,999 respectively. All three TV models come with a built-in Chromecast feature, which allows users to share their mobile content onto the big screen. The three models are also equipped with a 4K UHD display supporting resolution of 3840×2160 pixels.
At the press conference, Vu Technologies said its IPS panels offer better dynamic contrast, wide viewing angle, and increased brightness. The televisions also support Dolby audio along with two 10W speakers. However, if you are super conscious about audio then you will have to get a separate audio source.
These three TVs run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, and are powered by a quad-core processor. They also include 2.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, and come bundled with streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, Hotstar, Facebook, Sony Liv, and ALT Balaji among others.
The television can be purchased with option of two controllers, including one with 11 button design and voice functionality, just like the Amazon Fire TV and Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4. The other controller is a standard one with controllers, but lacks voice support. The voice remote also supports Bluetooth connectivity, which means you don’t necessarily need to point at the TV to change your video source.
The TVs come with connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and port options include three HDMI ports, two USB 3.0, and 3.5mm audio jack. The televisions seem to offer very good features, but Xiaomi might have an edge here in terms of pricing.
