The usual case of accidentally dropping a phone by a person is from normal heights like pant pocket height or head height while on a call. In Tom’s Guide video drop test of iPhone XS, XS Max included a three way drop test for three-foot, four-foot, and five-foot drops. In usual waist height and head height drop tests, both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max survived without any problem. When it came to iPhone XS drop from a about 11-feet height, it had very minimal damage while the iPhone XS passed the test with flying colors and not a single damage. It took over 20-foot drop for iPhone XS Max to smash from the front completely, which is about two-story apartment height.


Apple didn’t mention about the glass protection standard that it is using on new iPhones, but it did say that they have improved upon its predecessor iPhone X. Internally, the iPhone XS has also upgraded on its chipset power and recently in a face off to Samsung Galaxy Note 9, it edged Samsung out by a decent margin.

The speed test battle on a video compared iPhone XS A12 Bionic processor to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 s Snapdragon 845 in multitasking performance. In a 16-app relay test, iPhone XS was significantly faster than the Note 9 in opening apps. The margin in app opening time was about 22 seconds.
