WhatsApp for iOS has been updated with a new feature that lets you send messages to WhatsApp groups you are part of by invoking the Siri voice assistant. You can now trigger Siri, and normally speak your message just like you would do for WhatsApp messages to individual contacts.
Currently, WhatsApp on iPhone already supports individual chats through Siri. For this, all you need to do is tell Siri to send a message to your friend by calling out their name followed by the message.
With this new update, you can send a group messages by activating Siri and issuing a command, “Send a message to WhatsApp group [name].” If there are multiple groups with similar name then Siri will show those all in a list. Once you’ve selected the group then you’ll be able to dictate your message to Siri and it will confirm with you again before sending the message in the group.
The update with this new Siri support in WhatsApp for iOS is now live at the App Store. It comes as part of version 2.18.80. Although, there no additional features added in the update, it still weighs heavy with 110.8 MB.
