Instant messaging application WhatsApp is an “amazing tool to enhance police efficiency”, Gurgaon police chief Navdeep Singh Virk has said.

He said that with the growing population and growing responsibilities of police, “the only way forward is to modernise the police force using latest technology”.
Virk also said people have sent him new ideas about using technology.
He said Gurgaon police would monitor official work, especially police patrolling at night, through WhatsApp.
