WhatsApp developers have been hard at work to fix the issues related to fake news and disinformation that has been rampant on the platform in the last couple of months. The company has faced a lot of criticism about nothing being able to prevent the use of the platform for the spread of hate and real-world physical harm. WhatsApp has been trying to find all possible solutions for the same but has not been able to find anything concrete. However, in the face of everything, the company is not slowing down when it comes to working on new features and gradually adding them to the platform.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the company is rolling out the ‘Mark as Read’ option for its Android Beta testers with version number 2.18.232. The thing to note here is that this is not the first time that we have noticed this feature as the company first introduced the feature with version number 2.18.214 almost two weeks back. As previously reported, the feature was then hidden even from the best testers but it looks like now the developers have ironed out any issues to make it stable for the full roll out.

As part of this feature, users will get the option to reply to the pending messages or to mark them are read so that you can quickly dismiss the messages directly from the notification panel without opening the app and ensure that there are no unread messages left.

This new feature comes right after the company started rolling out the much-anticipated feature that allows WhatsApp users to make group video and audio calls with their family, friends or colleagues. However, as previously reported, the limit of users in a group call is fixed to four users at any given time.
