WhatsApp, seems late to the 'Dark mode' party, but as they say, better late than never.

WhatsApp has enjoyed being the most popular kid in town when it came to instant messaging platforms, and that has given it the liberty to introduce features at its own pace. And not just introducing new features, even omitting ones that rivals may have come up with. And this confidence has been born out of the fact that no other instant messaging app has been able to touch the pedestal that that app currently enjoys. Not even Facebook Messenger, the patent app of its parent company.

And though we have seen the ‘Dark mode’ in other apps already like YouTube, Twitter, Discord and Reddit, it now seems like WhatsApp may finally have some plans in place to introduce it. The fresh round of rumors and leaks comes from WABetaInfo who states, “I’m happy to exclusively give the good news: WhatsApp is finally working on a Dark Mode! It’s a dream. There are many important secret references in recent updates! Be patient to see it out, hoping it will be FULL OLED friendly for Android phones, iPhone X and newer!”

And in the following tweet, the WABetaInfo has shown off what the new Dark mode might look like.

As of now, there is no official news from WhatsApp’s end, though if this is credible, we suppose the company will declare something sooner or later. Dark modes are extremely useful, as staring at the bright colors at low light conditions can be stressful for the eyes, and it is useful even in extremely harsh light conditions as well.
