Is WhatsApp finally coming to the Apple iPads?

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app has been around for years, and available on major operating systems, such as Android, iOS, BB10 and Windows Phone. While the app is available for Apple smartphones, the company has not rolled out the app for iPad. Now, if leaked data is to be believed, WhatsApp might soon extend its support for Apple iPad users.

According to a tweet from WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned messaging service is gearing up to introduce an app for Apple iPad users. The report further states that the WhatsApp Desktop 0.2.6968 app references for an iPad application confirm the news.

Lately, WhatsApp was updated with new features that put it in competition with major apps like Snapchat. WhatsApp has also introduced features such as Delete for Everyone, live location, WhatsApp for Business to name a few.

The company is also slated to be working on WhatsApp Pay which is anticipated to launch in India next month. The feature was recently detailed in new beta version. India’s likely to be the first market to get WhatsApp’s payment service that is being built on the government-backed Unified Payments Interface.
