A BGR India reader has sent us screenshots of the voice calling feature on the WhatsApp iOS app. The feature is currently only available in the beta version of the app (v. 18.104.22.1684), so it s not open to all. The feature brings in small changes to the UI, and users will see a phone icon beside a contact s display picture. Hitting the button opens the calling screen, which looks pretty much the same as iPhone s default calling screen, albeit with the words WhatsApp call. At the bottom of the screen, the tab includes a new Recent button. This shows the call history including calls you made, received and the ones you missed. The fact that the feature has been rolled out to the beta app is an indication that an official release is not too far off. In the meantime, if you use an Android smartphone, you can try out the feature by following these steps.
