Speaking at the JP Morgan Technology, Media and Telecom Conference in Boston, Reller said that Windows 8.1 will first be unveiled at Microsoft s Build conference starting on June 26 in the form of a Release Preview build. The final consumer build could be available around late October. Last year, even Windows 8 was launched on October 26, so perhaps Microsoft will maintain the same timeline.
In addition to the above announcement, Reller also mentioned that the Windows Store now boasts of more than 70,000 apps that include the likes of Twitter, eBay, Netflix, CNN and games like Temple Run: Brave, Bejeweled LIVE and Angry Birds Star Wars among others.
