Almost two years after being acquired by Nokia, Withings co-founder, Eric Carreel was able to acquire the company back again in May. Now it looks like Withings is getting ready to make a comeback in the health and fitness industry by launching a new fitness tracker called Steel HR Sport along with a new app and a new logo.

The new fitness tracker takes its design cues from the Steel HR, which was launched by the company under Nokia’s supervision. It features the same analog face with a small digital screen embedded in it for displaying health stats and other data. It also comes in the same black and white color options. However, this time around, the watch comes with a silicon wristband, instead of the leather one featured on Steel HR. It’s water resistant up to 50 meters as well.

In terms of fitness, the Steel HR Sport supports tracking for up to 30 activities including running, cycling, swimming, gyming and more. It also comes with a heart rate monitor and GPS tracking to further help increase the accuracy with workouts. Additionally, there is also a fitness assessment feature included, which analyses the oxygen consumption and gives an estimation of how well your body can cope under intensive workouts. The smartwatch also keeps a track of your sleep cycles and stores all the data in the new Health Mate app on the smartphone.

With the Steel HR Sport, Withings has also improved on notifications. The small screen supports call alerts, message notifications, email, calendar and many more. You can also set alarms on it. Withings claims the device to last for 25 days on a single charge with normal use and 5 days in workout mode. The Steel HR Sport is being priced at $199.95, which translates roughly to Rs 14,550.
