In a bizarre turn of events, a woman has been busted by officials at Shenzen China for smuggling over 100 iPhones in China. As per Chinese media, the woman attempted smuggling around 102 Apple iPhones hid inside her clothes. The woman was trying to smuggle these iPhones into mainland China from Hong Kong. And if 102 iPhones were not enough, the lady also had around 15 luxury watches on her body when busted by officials. The Chinese media are calling the lady as the “female Iron Man” for attempting such a stunt which fortunately ended into an epic fail. According to the XMNN report, the woman drew unwanted attention from customs officers because of the dress she wore. The middle-aged woman was reportedly wearing a cardigan over her blouse which apparently does not go well with warm weather. They also felt that her upper body was “bloated” and disproportionate compared to her thin arms. A metal detector further confirmed their suspicion. Officials said, her body above waist appeared “bloated” and disproportionate compared to her thin arms. The metal detectors installed at the premises, however, confirmed the officers’ suspicion and woman ended up being busted. The ‘ambitious’ lady had around four layers of phones wrapped around her chest and waist. The total weight of the objects recovered from the lady weighed around 40 pounds (approximately 9 kilos). This is not the first time when customs officers in China are waking up to such incidents.People in China have been buster earlier as well, primarily sneaking iPhones into mainland China. Why smuggle iPhones? Basically, Apple iPhone in mainland China comes with an additional 30 percent of tax as compared to Hong Kong and other parts of China. In their bid to save some cash, people in China tend to illegally import iPhone and often get caught. Previously in the year 2015, a man was busted while attempting to sneak in 94 iPhones into China. As per a report by The Verge, Chinese officials bust smugglers with as many as 80 iPhone on a usual basis.
