The world’s most popular word game for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, “Ruzzle” has been released in a new “Adventure” version ahead of summer. Available as a free download on the App Store, the game spices things up with unexpected obstacles and boosters.
Since March 2012, “Ruzzle” has taken the world of mobile gaming by storm, particularly among users of Apple’s touchscreen devices. Developed by the Swedish company Studio MAG Interactive, the app is available in 13 languages and has been downloaded over five million times.
A new variation on the original word search game, “Ruzzle Adventure” is based on the same goal: find words using 16 randomly selected letters — including some with special points multipliers (double word, double letter, etc.) to achieve the highest possible score during the allotted time. This time, however, the game takes place across three different worlds and 150 levels, each with its own series of obstacles to make things a little more interesting.
While battling vikings, pirates and zombies in the new game, players can turn for help to four new boosters: extra bomb, super jump, swap tile and shuffleboard. Of course, players can share their scores and progress with friends online through Facebook and Twitter. “Ruzzle” is similar to Microsoft Studios’ “Wordament,” which was also launched in 2012, and to the classic board game “Boggle,” which provided the inspiration behind both of these digital variants.
