The concept behind the Breathe app is very similar to India s ancient art of Yoga (Pranayam) that focuses on keeping you healthy by deep breathing. The app helps users relax their mind and body and take on everyday stress. The app gives you smart notifications to remind you to breathe, just like Apple Watch reminded users to stand every hour. You can use the crown to customize how long you want to practice deep breathing. You can also close your eyes and do the exercise through 1-5 minutes of guided breathing via haptic feedback. It s funny that now you need a gadget or an app to remind you to just breathe. Well, Yoga is already growing popular in the US. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent address to the US Congress cited Apple s Siri revealed that there are 30 million Yoga practitioners in the US.
Our people to people links are strong; and there is close cultural connect between our societies. Siri tells us that India s ancient heritage of yoga has over 30 million practitioners in the US. It is estimated that more Americans bend for yoga than to throw a curve ball. We have not yet claimed intellectual property right on Yoga, he quipped.
