Apple is yet to officially declare as to when its annual Worldwide Developers Conference will take place, however, we already have the media world guessing the possible dates and venue of the event. Based on information trickling from sources and booking details, it is likely that WWDC 2018 may take place between June 4 and June 8 in San Jose, California.
WWDC 2018 will take place at the same venue as last year, which is the McEnery Convention Center. As discovered by MacRumors, the said venue is already booked for other events throughout the month of June, leaving just the first full week, which is when WWDC 2018 is expected to take place.
It is worth noting that WWDC is traditionally held in the month of June since the 2000s, and is mostly in the first half of the month. However, as there remains to be an official announcement around the same, it is advisable to take this information with the proverbial grain of salt.
Last year was the first instance when WWDC event was held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, and Apple made the announcement earlier than usual through a press release. If the company is to continue with the same venue, we might get to know the official details by April, after MWC 2018.
The annual conference sees a range of announcements around Apple’s newest software progress. As for this year, we should ideally get a peek into the next versions of all Apple software, including iOS 12, macOS 10.14, and upgrades to tvOS and watchOS. If we are in for a treat, Apple might also announce new hardware, which would again make the developer-centric event of consumer interest.
According to the report, tickets to the conference could cost around $1,599 (approximately Rs 103,700), and will be distributed randomly through a lottery. If you are a developer and interested in attending the conference, you could enroll in the Apple Developer Program prior to Apple’s official WWDC 2018 announcement to ensure eligibility.
