Xiaomi has a whole lot of devices in the market and it is one of the manufacturers that is regular in providing updates to its custom MIUI interface, even for phones that have been launched a while ago. And considering that Xiaomi caters to a mainly the budget segment of the smartphone market it is impressive that it smartphones can support timely updates and run them efficiently.
And now the Chinese company has updated the list of its devices that will be receiving updates for Android Pie and Android Oreo in the fourth quarter of this year. The phones mentioned in the list will at least be receiving a beta version of software updates which will possibly get a full official rollout by the end of 2018. And a quick scan of the list reveals that most of the devices mentioned in it are running on the older Android Oreo and very few of these are on the latest Android Pie. The devices that are running on Android Pie are Mi Mix 2S, Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer.
One of the most important things to notice in the list is that the Android Oreo update of the Mi 5s Plus is delayed because of unresolved software issues.
Redmi 5, 5A, 5 Plus and Mi 5X are the Xiaomi devices that will be receiving an Android Oreo update during this quarter. While the Mi Max 3 and the Mi 8 lineup will be receiving Android Pie in the fourth quarter of 2018.

There is no word from Xiaomi about devices that have already received two major updates on whether they will be receiving Android Pie anytime soon or not. Some of the older handsets have also been omitted from the list of updates and Xiaomi has not clarified which of its handsets will get the latest features offered by Google.
