This unveil comes just days after OnePlus launched its notepad-like designed 10,000mAh Power Bank in India for Rs 1,399. In comparison, the Xiaomi 10,400mAh Power Bank looked bulky and heavy. The company seems to have re-invented its design to take on the competition.
The new Mi Power Bank is 30 percent more energy dense and is just 60.4mm thin, as compared to 77mm on the 10,400mAh variant. It is likely that the company will discontinue the 10,400mAh Power bank to introduce this slimmer successor. Just to compare, the OnePlus power bank is 72.6mm slim, a little more wider than the new Mi Power Bank. The OnePlus Power Bank also has dual USB ports, a significant feature missing from the Mi Power Banks.
Asus has also entered the power bank space, with its 10,050mAh Zenpower for Rs 1,499. The Zenpower seems to be highly inspired by the Mi power banks when it comes to design, and is almost as slim as the new Xiaomi Power Bank at 59mm.
Xiaomi currently has an existing line-up of the 10,400mAh Power Bank which retails for Rs 999, and a 5,200mAh Power Bank which retails for Rs 599.
