After gaming laptops, Xiaomi is now exploring the gaming smartphone field. In fact, the Chinese smartphone maker is believed to unveil its first ever gaming phone – Black Shark – today. Black Shark is actually a company owned by Xiaomi, or you could now see it as an arm, which will be dedicated at making gaming-centric products. While there is hardly any information about the new gaming phone, which has been made official by Xiaomi yet, but there have been a bunch of leaks that revealed dependable information about the device. Design wise, a very recent leaked live image of the phone showed off a very rugged back of the smartphone. Plus, it is also believed that the smartphone will features some dedicated external gaming controls up front. At the back of the phone, teasers have also revealed the device with a green-colored ‘S’ logo. The teaser also hinted at the Black Shark smartphone sporting a curved body with rounded edges.
The smartphone has also been leaked to reveal a dual-camera setup at the back, with an accompanying LED flash.
In terms of specifications, a recent benchmark listing hinted at features like Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to run Android Oreo out-of-the-box.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Black Shark is also expected to feature a a full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) resolution display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Leaks also hint at a possible OLED screen, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. There could also be support for HDR, and 120Hz refresh rate to allow a smoother gaming experience.
