Xiaomi is pulling its socks up for hosting an event on September 27, where it has been expected to launch the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus smartphones. While a lot has been speculated and leaked about the smartphones, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun, has now stepped in to confirm the launch of the Mi 5s at the event. Along with the confirmation of the handset, he also teased the camera of the Mi 5s, which is expected to be its high point. Lei Jun shared a photo clicked by Xiaomi Mi 5s much-hyped dual camera. The image is of the sea, clicked from a sailing boat. The CEO put up the post on his official Weibo account, where he confirmed that the picture he uploaded has been clicked from the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s, reported Gizmochina. He also added that the image does not use any filter or correction. While not much can be talked about the camera by looking at just one photograph, however, it is needless to say that the colors in the image have come out beautifully. Since the social media platform compresses the uploaded file, Chinese website MyDrivers reportedly got hold of the actual image, the EXIF file details of which, reveals the actual resolution of the clicked from Mi 5s, that is 3264 x 2448 resolution. Along with that, their data reveals more details like shutter speed (1/750 sec), ISO 100 and f/2.0 aperture. Other than that, what we know about the Xiaomi Mi 5s is that it may feature a circular Apple iPhone-like home button below the display and could come with Qualcomm’s ultra sonic Sense ID feature. Rumors and leaks also suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 5s will feature a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display with Force Touch feature similar to the 3D Touch on Apple s iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 smartphones. Under the hood it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.4GHz, which will be paired with Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone is also expected to come with 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 256GB. On the photography front, the Mi 5s will likely sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). It could be powered by a 3,490mAh battery along with Qualcomm s Fast Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity option expected include USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11.
