Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its latest smartphone, the Redmi S2 in the Chinese market on May 10, 2018. Hours before the launch of the device, the company co-founder Lin Bin took to his official Weibo profile to post some sample photos from the device. This is likely an attempt to generate hype about the upcoming device before the official launch of the device. The sample pictures in question showcase the bokeh effect that the camera produces. Considering the rumors about the pricing of the device and the fact that Redmi S2 is likely to be a budget or mid-range device in the market, the two images are impressive, to say the least. Both the images are of a similar scene but they show how effectively the upcoming device can differentiate the object in front from the background to create a great bokeh effect.
In the first image, the focus is on the background where the camera has blurred the Starbucks cup, while in the second image, the focus is on a Starbucks beverage cup in the front with a good bokeh effect to blur out the background. This level of object isolation and blur is only available in high-end smartphones or dedicated camera systems. Xiaomi has not revealed any details if it will launch the device in the Indian market at the time of writing.

As previously reported, it is likely that the Redmi S2 will come with a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 720 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The device will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. Xiaomi is likely to offer an option to further expand using a microSD card. It is likely that the device will come with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage options.
