Yesterday Xiaomi India started teasing that the Mi 3 was not the only product it would launch in India on July 15. The teaser image showed two smartphones with a ‘?’ on them, which indicated it could be placeholders for the Redmi and the Redmi Note. However, digging a little into the source code of Xiaomi India’s website homepage indicates there could be much more in store than just smartphones on July 15. xiaomi-codeAccording to the source code, apart from the Mi 3 and the Mi Power Bank that Xiaomi has already announced for India, it would also be launching the Redmi Note and the Mi TV in India. This announcement is likely to happen on July 15. Xiaomi is hosting a press conference in New Delhi on July 15 to formally announce its India launch. The Mi TV comes as a surprise as there were no indications of its launch. India could be one of the first international markets where it is launched. We would be a bit surprised if Xiaomi goes ahead with launching a smart tv and not its Mi Box, which is an Apple TV like set top box.

Xiaomi had announced the Mi TV last September. The 47-inch full HD 3D LCD TV features a display from Samsung or LG. It will run on Android and sports Qualcomm s Snapdragon 600 quadcore processor clocked at 1.7GHz. It also comes with a 11 button remote and will support Bluetooth 4.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi. It comes with a built-in MiBox, and users can also stream content from their other devices using Airplay, Miracast, DLNA among others. It was launched at approximately $640, which is slightly below Rs 40,000.

The Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, a Mediatek 6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. It also has a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front facing cameras. Last but not the least, there is also a 3,100mAh battery. The best part is that the Redmi Note could be priced below Rs 10,000.

We will come to know for sure what Xiaomi has in store for us on July 15 but it surely sounds very exciting right now.
