Chinese smartphone maker and electronics giant Xiaomi has just announced that it has successfully crossed the 100 million smartphones shipment mark. This means that the company has already reached its target for the year 2018 with two months to spare. This announcement is a testament to the tremendous growth of the company in existing markets while entering new markets to offer devices to more potential customers. The company took to its official Twitter handle to make the announcement.
The announcement came along with a statement by Lei Jun, the founder of the company about the achievement. Xiaomi also thanked its fans and partners to help company cross the milestone. This tweet comes days after reports emerged on the internet speculating that the company may cross the goal before the end of the year. The company recorded 90 million smartphone shipments last year, which prompted the company to set the aim higher. Considering that the company has been successful in achieving its target, it is yet to announce its target for 2019.

Two significant factors that have helped Xiaomi achieve its goals include good hardware along with extremely competitive pricing. The company has focused on the lower segment of the smartphone market with multiple device launches that offer options to potential customers depending on the features they want in the budget that they can afford.
The company seems to be doing well in markets including India. As previously reported, Xiaomi India held 27 percent of the total market share in India in Q3 2018 to be the “largest smartphone seller” in the country.
