In addition to launching the Mi Wi-Fi router in China today, Xiaomi also took the wraps off two more connected devices. The two new connected devices are quite self-explanatory. The word smart entails that the air conditioner is controllable by a smartphone. Additionally, though the air conditioner can detect if you are wearing a Mi Band. So if you were to enter the room wearing the Mi Band, the air conditioner will automatically switch on. It will switch off when it senses that you ve left the room. The Xiaomi air conditioner is priced at 3,099 Yuan (Rs 31,890 approximately), and will be available in green, pink, blue and white color variants. The Yeelight Bendside Lamp too can be controlled by a smartphone, and boasts lights in 16 million colors. In addition to smartphones, the smart lamp also supports gestures to adjust brightness, switch off, and change colors. The Yeelight Bedside Lamp is priced at 249 Yuan (Rs 2,562 approximately).
Just like the Mi Wi-Fi router, these connected devices too have only been launched in China. There is no word on when Xiaomi plans to launch them in other markets.
Xiaomi is quite ambitious about creating an ecosystem of connected devices. Along with partner including the likes of Midea, the company is ramping up its portfolio of IoT devices. It currently sells Mi Bands, Mi Wi-Fi, Mi TV, Mi Air Purifier, Mi Power Strip, Mi Smart Scales.
