Xiaomi Gaming Headset to go on sale in China this week

The Xiaomi Gaming Headset will come with support for both 3.5mm port and traditional PC port.

After launching its first-ever gaming smartphone Black Shark, Xiaomi is reportedly set to put up its gaming headset up for sale. As a tipster reveals on Twitter, the Xiaomi Gaming Headset will be available for purchase on April 27. However, they will be available only in home country China. Price of the headset is 349 CNY which is approximately Rs 3,700.

The tipster, Ishan Agarwal, has also shared promotional images of the Xiaomi Gaming Headset, along with revealing some of its specifications. Going by those, the over-the-ear headset will include colorful LED gaming light effect. As for audio output, it will use a 7.1 virtual surround stereo engine. Other features of the Xiaomi Gaming Headset include 40mm graphene composite diaphragm and dual microphone ENC ambient noise reduction technology.

Based on the images, the headset appears to feature a very minimalist design. Surprisingly, there’s no ‘Xiaomi’ or ‘Mi’ branding on the device. However, it does feature elements which are complementary to the Black Shark smartphone. For instance, the color theme of the headset is similar to the Black Shark smartphone. While there is no official word, but a future version might be offered as an in-the-box accessory for the gaming smartphone.

The headset will be available with two types of connectors – one with the traditional 3.5mm port and the other with USB. This will essentially make it useful for both smartphone-based gaming as well as the standard PC gaming.

Recently, Xiaomi had announced that it wants to expand its product portfolio in India. The company already has a robust market in China where it sells a lot of consumer products other than smartphones and laptops. These range from home appliances, mobility devices, and more.

The launch of Black Shark smartphone is seen as the company’s brand new move towards offering something more than just sleek and affordable smartphones. With the launch of the Xiaomi Gaming Headset, it will be interesting to see how the company shapes up its gaming portfolio.
