Huami, the subsidiary brand of Xiaomi is set to launch in India on July 24. The brand is known for its fitness trackers as well as smartwatches in the Chinese market.
Huami is seen as a brand that aims to deliver smart wearable devices for prices that are lower than competing devices in the similar segment. Xiaomi itself is the leader in the wearable segment with its cheap Mi Band fitness trackers and with Huawei, Xiaomi will also start offering smart wearable devices on a budget. Huami is now expected to launch the Amazfit Bip and Amazfit Stratos smartwatches when it enters the market next week.
The company revealed its plans to enter the Indian market with a teaser showing a watch with a round dial and buttons on the sides on Twitter. The teaser also shows another device with a rectangular dial that hints at the launch of Amazfit Bip and Amazfit Stratos smart wearable in the Indian market.
Huami Amazfit Bip features a 1.28-inch rectangular display with a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is capable of tracking your steps, runs, cycling and has an optical heart rate sensor. The smartwatch comes with a Bluetooth 4.0 LE that is compatible with Android and iOS. The smartwatch offers 20mm standard width changeable watch bands and comes with IP68 water and dust resistance. The Amazfit Bip is backed by a 190mAh battery that can last for upto 30 days with regular use and weighs around 31 grams.
The Huami Amazfit Stratos, on the other hand, is more akin to a regular watch with a circular dial that supports a 1.34-inch display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It can mirror your smartphone notifications for calls, messages, emails and other applications.

In terms of tracking activity, it can track your run, run indoor, walk, trail run, cycling, elliptical training, pool swimming, tennis, skiing and soccer. It also comes with an optical heart rate sensor and supports Bluetooth 4.0 LTE. The watch uses a 22mm standard watchband and is water resistant up to 50 meters. The wearable is packed with a 290mAh battery that can last for up to 5 days.
Huami has been successful in China owing to its price and in India, it should be even more competitive. The Amazfit Bip sells globally for $99 and could retail for around Rs 7,000 in India. The Amazfit Stratos is priced at $199 globally and is expected to retail for around Rs 13,500 in India.
