Google has just launched the latest version of its mobile operating system Android in the form of Android 9 Pie. The company officially announced the rollout of the new version of Android on September 6, 2018. The announcement comes out of the blue without any hint from Google and it even proved leaker Evan Blass incorrect in the information that he provided. However, it looks like there were sufficient hints available on the internet for one to anticipate this launch. One of the most obvious hints out there is Xiaomi calling out for beta testers that can test Android Pie-based MIUI Global ROM for its Mi MIX 2S.

The company posted this a number of days after it paused its beta program for the Mi MIX 2S in anticipation of the final version of the Android Pie. Interested Mi MIX 2S users can head to the MIUI forum app to apply and be a part of the beta test. The post that calls out beta testers highlighted that this test is limited to MIUI users who are running the Global ROM. It is likely that the company is running a separate beta program of the Chinese ROM. Interested users have time till August 9, 2018, to apply to be part of the beta testing team.

The post concludes after warning users that bugs are to be expected from the Beta version of the ROM while pointing out that MIUI developers are working on a number of devices at any given time so it is better not to rush them or the administrators and moderators.
