Products from Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform are turning more and more unexpected by the day now (especially with the company actually releasing a new product almost every other day). So it is only wise to just sit back and watch what Xiaomi has up its sleeve next. The latest bunny that Xiaomi has pulled out of its hat is a mattress.
Called the 8H Latex Mattress M3, the mattress comes with some improvement over the 8H Latex mattress M1. According to the specification revealed by Gizmochina, the spring mattress uses the Thai direct mining natural latex, steel independent pocket spring, and drawer-type layered design. The mattress also comes with jacket covering, which is washable and uses YKK zipper.
From what the publication has revealed, there is nothing ‘smart’ in the mattress. So it doesn’t add to the Mi ecosystem, but it does add to the range of products that the platform offers. The mattress fall in line with the likes of the Mi Pen and the Mi Umbrella, like the mattress these products aren’t really smart, but are superior in quality.
The 8H Latex Mattress M3 will come in three different sizes, the smallest one comes with a dimension of 1.2m x 2m x 20cm and carries a price tag of 1499 Yuan ($200, or Rs 14,000 approx). There is another with a dimension of 1.55m x 2m x 20cm price at 1599 Yuan ($213, or Rs 14,500 approx), and yet a third with a dimension of 1.8m x 2m x 20cm starting at 1699 Yuan ($227, or Rs 15,000 approx). Lately, Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform has been paying a lot of attention to devices to enhance quality of sleep amongst its users. Just last week, Xiaomi launched a pebble-size smart sensor device, called the Lunar smart sleep sensor. As the name suggests, this device intelligently analyzes a user’s sleep duration and quality, and sends out periodic sleep reports through the mobile app. The mobile app for the product works on Android phones running Android 4.0 and higher, and on iPhones running iOS 8.0 and higher.
Another interesting feature that the smart sleeper sensor comes with is a Triple sound button, which plays soothing music to help a user fall asleep, and in addition to that it apparently also gives expert advice on troubled sleep. Also, for the intelligent sleep tracking to work, the sleep sensor needs to be kept on or inside a pillow. The device emits zero radiations and electromagnetic waves, so users do not have to worry about any harm caused by keeping it close to them when sleeping.
