After launching the Mi Router 4, Xiaomi has launched yet another ecosystem product in China. The new product is called Roidmi Car Air Purifier. At the time of filing this story, the new crowdfunded product has received 59 percent of the target funding.
The Roidmi Car Air Purifier name essentially sums up what the product is all about. It is also the successor to the first-generation air purifier model launched back in December 2016. The first product launch was the result of a photo shared online that showed a man carrying a Mi Air Purifier on a train. Xiaomi-funded Roidmi then launched the first-generation portable air purifier for people on the move.
The car air purifier features a design that reminds us of a Bluetooth speaker. It features dimensions of 380x118x118mm, and weighs 1.5kg. Under the hood are two fans, and the purifier uses a three-side circulation intake design. This design is said to increase the area of the air inlet, and the company claims the air in the car can be purified in about two minutes.
There is also a 360-degrees full-effect composite filter element that supports multi-effect combination of anti-mite, aldehyde removal. It also boasts a laser particle sensor, and an 80m3/h CADR particulate matter filtering capacity. This capacity is up from the 60m3/h on the first-gen model.
The air purifier also features an OLED display on the front, which can show PM2.5 levels, filter usage level, Bluetooth connection status, and operating mode. Speaking of which, there are three modes to choose from – Auto, Favorite, and Sleep.

The purifier is priced at RMB 699 (approximately Rs 7,500), and is currently up for pre-orders. The new product will be going on sale from July 3.
