Xiaomi took a little detour during the launch event of its new flagship phone, and announced its new Mi Gaming Laptop 15.6”. This is the first venture from the Chinese tech giant into the gaming notebook market.
The Mi Gaming Laptop looks similar to the Razer Blade with some hints from others. It has a dark grey body with a matte finish. The curves and cuts resemble those on the Razer Blade Pro.
It features a 15.6-inch wide color gamut panel housed between ultra-thin bezels. The laptop weighs 2.7 kg, which is standard for a gaming laptop.
The laptop runs on Intel 7th gen Core i7 processor and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics processing unit with 16GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the laptop comes with a 256GB SSD with expanding capabilities and a 1TB hard drive.
The card and processor are cooled by a high powered cooling system that can be triggered using a hotkey. Other features of the device include Dolby Sound and Sony Hi-Res certified audio, gaming keyboard with 30 n-key rollover and 16 million colors in four zones as well as five macro keys. The laptop has 10 interface ports in total.
There is a base variant of the laptop available as well which will have lower spec options. The base variant of the Mi Gaming Laptop comes with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050ti GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD.
The base variant of the Mi Gaming Laptop with the 1050ti GPU is priced at 5,999 RMB (Rs 61,990 approximately) and the higher variant with the 1060 GPU costs 8,999 RMB (Rs 92,991 approximately). There is no mention of when the products will hit the shelves, and to our best kn,owledge the product will only be available in China.
