After segways, and TVs, Xiaomi is now making efforts to revolutionize the simple pencil battery. The Chinese company has launched AA-sized rechargeable batteries, which are now available in China for 9.9 Yuan, roughly Rs 103. These new batteries are developed by Zmi, which is a part of Xiaomi s growing ecosystem, and is also the one that develops the Mi Power Bank. We have become used to somber colored batteries, and Xiaomi is changing that with its batteries coming in bright rainbow colors. On the inside is a high quality carbon rod developed by Japanese company Maxell. While the batteries look normal from the outside, the company has tweaked the innards and made the design more compact. This it says helps in reducing energy loss and prolongs the lifespan of the battery to seven years.
These batteries come in a pack of 10, and are offered along with a storage box. This pack is priced at 9.9 Yuan, and as with most of its new products, these batteries too are only in sale in China. Xiaomi hasn t revealed any plans of launching it outside the country.
