Although developed in partnership with Xiaomi, these shoes are called Li-Ning Smart shoes. Li-Ning is one of the more famous shoemakers from China, which also endorses quite a few athletes and teams. These shoes connect with a smartphone via Bluetooth, and include a module with sensors placed under the sole. These sensors track the number of steps taken, calories burnt among other fitness-related data.
The company claims that the shoes are waterproof, sweatproof, and can withstand pressure. The sensors are built using military-grade materials, and are good enough to last more than a year.
The Li-Ning Smart shoes will be available in two variants, priced at 199 Yuan and 399 Yuan. Both smart shoes will go on sale in China on July 20. There is no word on if the companies plan to launch them in other countries.
Xiaomi has been steadily increasing its ecosystem of connected devices. The lineup includes the likes of Mi Band, Mi Wi-Fi, Mi TV, Mi Air Purifier, Mi Power Strip, Mi Smart Scales, Yeelight Bedside Lamp, and smart air conditioners.
