Xiaomi has launched an interesting new accessory for smartphone users who are enthusiastic about photography or shooting videos like a pro. The gimbal sort of tool is called the Three-Axis Shooting Stabilizer, and is priced at RMB 799 (Rs 7,500 approximately). Coming from Xiaomi s crowdfunding project, MIJIA, the tool offers three-axis stabilization. It is accompanied by a high precision acceleration sensor offering a real-time detection of smartphone position. It also offers four different shooting modes — horizontal movement, Omni-directional movement, locking direction, and vertical mode. It accessory features a brushless motor holding that can rotate from 9-degrees to 30-degrees for a 270-degree rotation. With this technology in place, the shooting stabilizer allows users to shoot stable slow motion videos or fast paced action with less distortion. The device can be used for shooting handheld videos and it also doubles up as selfie stick, so it can be used for making videos like a pro. It can also be mounted on a tripod. The three-axis shooting stabilizer measures 266x53x43mm, and weighs around 450 grams. As you can guess, this new device is Xiaomi s take on DJI’s OSMO Mobile, which too allows users to shoot videos like a pro. The OSMO Mobile is a bit heavier at 500 grams.
Presently, Xiaomi s 3-axis shooting stabilizer remains limited to China, while its global availability remains unknown as of now. The accessory is available for purchase via Xiaomi’s Mi Home Crowdfunding platform.
