Xiaomi‘s flash sale model has proved to be a huge crowd-puller and the Chinese company has attained overnight fame in India.
In a chat with BGR India, Xiaomi s VP Hugo Barra revealed how they had underestimated the demand for the Mi 3 in India and apologized on behalf of the company.
Flipkart had advised interested buyers to be online and be logged in here an hour before the sale begins. At the stroke of two, users quickly hit the buy button to reserve one unit for themselves. The lucky ones who got the smartphone in their cart, now have until midnight to pay for the smartphone.
Only those who registered after the close of the last sale on August 12 were eligible to buy the Xiaomi Mi 3 in this sale. Registration for the next sale will open at 6PM today itself.
