After much delay, Xiaomi is reportedly launching the Mi 4 in India on January 28. The company has not announced the pricing of the product, but reports are indicating that the last year’s flagship will be priced around Rs 20,000.
Speaking to Indian Express, the company’s India head Manu Jain hinted that the device will be priced around Rs 20,000. He further added, “Given the fact that Xiaomi likes to surprise its fans, we can expect the price to be less than that.”
The current listed price of the Mi 4 4G variant on Xiaomi World is $379.99, which comes up to an approximate Rs 23,500. Xiaomi’s international VP Hugo Barra had earlier said it would launch the 4G variant of the Mi 4 in India. The 4G variant of Mi 4 hit China markets in October.
The Mi 4 was earlier speculated to launch in December last year, but has since seen quite a few delays. To recap, the Xiaomi Mi 4 was unveiled in July last year. As far as specifications go, the former flagship device flaunts a 5-inch full HD 1080p display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also included is 16GB internal storage.
The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,080mAh battery that the company claims can survive for a day and half on normal usage. It also claims that the battery can be charged up to 60 percent in just an hour.
