Leaks surrounding the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus have been extremely generous, and now new details seem to have surfaced on Chinese social network Weibo. The tipster reveals practically everything about the two flagships including the price and specification, leaving very little to the imagination. First spotted by GizmoChina, the latest leak reveals that the Mi 5 will come with a 5.2-inch 2K LCD display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset. On the camera front, it is said to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 13-megpixel front-facing camera. The Mi 5 will run on the company’s new MIUI 7 (most likely based on Android 5.1 Lollipop), and pack a 3,000mAh battery which will have fast charging abilities. It will charge up to 30 percent in five minutes and up to 100 percent in 40 minutes.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the report states that the Mi 5 price will start at 2,399 Yuan (approximately Rs 24,500). Earlier leaks suggest that the smartphone will come in 16/64GB variants, and integrate a fingerprint scanner in the home button.
Coming to the Mi5 Plus, the report states that it will feature a full metal body and a larger 5.7-inch 2K display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, and come with a fingerprint scanner.
On the camera front, it sports a 23-megapixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing sensor. It should run on the same software as the Mi 5, and may pack a 3,500mAh battery. It also supports fast charging with the capacity to charge up the phone to 100 percent in 50 minutes.
As for the pricing, it could begin at 3,000 Yuan (Rs 30,700 approximately). Earlier leaks suggest 32GB of internal storage on the Mi 5 Plus. Both the smartphones are now rumored to have a bezel-less display and are pegged for a November launch.
