The handset seen in the above photo is similar to what we have seen in previous leaks. An alleged photo of the white variant leaked last week revealing a near bezel-less design. Interestingly, the latest leaked photo doesn’t carry the Mi logo. This could be because the handset in the above photo might be a prototype. According to the leaks so far, the Mi 5 is expected to feature a QHD (2560×1440 pixels), and 64-bit capable Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. On the camera front, the handset is pegged to sport a 20.7-megapixel shooter. According to an earlier report, the company could also launch a limited number of models (about 50,000) with the sapphire protected display.
In a post announcing the latest funding round, Xiaomi co-founder president Bin Lin revealed that the company was planning on unveiling its flagship handset next month. While there was no mention of a date, reports claim that the Chinese company could host an event on January 15.
