Xiaomi is all set to launch the Mi 5 in India tomorrow. Hugo Barra had revealed plans about the Mi 5 during the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 launch event earlier this month. Xiaomi has launched three variants of the Mi 5 smartphone — 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The first two variants feature a 3D glass back, while the 128GB variant boasts a 3D Ceramic body. The company is however unlikely to launch this variant tomorrow. The 32GB variant features a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, while the 64GB variant features a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. Xiaomi Mi 5 price: In China, the 32GB variant and 64GB variants are available for 1,999 Yuan (Rs 20,900 approximately), and 2,299 Yuan (Rs 24,100 approximately) respectively. Xiaomi’s President Bin Lin recently revealed that the Mi 5 in India too will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 27,000.
Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications, features: The Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 16-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording capabilities, four-axis OIS technology, PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash, and a 4-megapixel selfie camera.
It also features a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port and NFC. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow wrapped under MIUI 7.
