Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, in India. It is one of the fist smartphones in India to run on Qualcomm s Snapdragon 820 processor. The Mi 5 will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, OnePlus 2 and Lenovo Vibe X3. We compare these smartphones on the basis of their price, specifications and features. Price: Xiaomi has launched the 32GB variant of Mi 5 in India. Priced at Rs 24,999, the smartphone will go on sale starting April 6 on Mi.com. The Galaxy S7 costs Rs 48,900, the OnePlus 2 16GB variant costs Rs 20,999 and 64GB variant costs Rs 22,999 whereas the Lenovo Vibe X3 is priced at Rs 19,999. Specifications and features: One of the key talking points of the Xiaomi Mi 5 is the front and back glass design encased in the metal frame and the fingerprint scanner embedded inside the home button. The Galaxy S7 is also made from a metal frame and comes with a front and back glass design. It also includes IP68 certification for water and dust proofing, a heart rate sensor and a fingerprint scanner that comes embedded inside the home button.
The OnePlus 2 comes with a metal frame and the signature sandstone finish at the back. It also boasts a fingerprint scanner inside the home button. On the other hand, the Lenovo Vibe X3 sports a metal frame and comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner, which is located on the back of the device. Lenovo has also added three Texas Instruments OPA1612 amplifiers and a high-end Sabre 9018C2M DAC chip along with support for Dolby Audio for improved audio experience.
The Mi 5 flaunts a 5.15-inch full HD curved glass full HD (1080p) display, the Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch QHD (1440x2560pixels) display and the OnePlus 2 and the Lenovo Vibe X3 come equipped with 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) displays.
At the heart of the Mi 5 runs Qualcomm s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. The Galaxy S7 runs on Samsung s homebrew Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which can be further expanded using a microSD card. Lenovo s Vibe X3 is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and microSD card slot, whereas OnePlus 2 is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 810 v2.1 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 16GB or 64GB of non-expandable storage.
In the photography department, the Mi 5 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, 4-axis OIS and dual tone LED flash, whereas the Galaxy S7 is equipped with 12-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.7 and 1.4um pixel sensor and LED flash. While the OnePlus 2 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus and dual LED flash, the Vibe X3 is equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera. All the smartphones include support for 4K video recording.

Up front, the Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 4-megapixel front camera, the Galaxy S7 features a 5-megapixel sensor of aperture f/1.7, OnePlus 2 features a 5-megapixel sensor, whereas the Vibe X3 is equipped with 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
On the battery front, the Mi 5 and Galaxy S7 are equipped with a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging feature. While the Mi 5 supports the Quick Charge 3.0 standard, the Galaxy S7 supports an equivalent Quick Charge 2.0 and wireless fast charging feature. The Vibe X3 is equipped with a 3,500mAh battery, whereas the OnePlus 2 is equipped with a 3,300mAh battery — both support Qualcomm s Quick Charge 2.0 feature.

In terms of connectivity, all smartphones support dual-SIM card slots with 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS. In terms of software, the Mi 5 runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Galaxy S7 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung s TouchWiz UI on top. The Lenovo Vibe X3 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with custom Vibe UI on top, whereas the OnePlus 2 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS based Oxygen OS and is due to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon.
