The Xiaomi Mi 5c launch is slated for December 12. While there is no official confirmation yet, a new poster has dropped a hint at a possible price.

xiaomi mi5s launched

After launching the Mi 5 earlier this year, Xiaomi recently unveiled a slightly bumped up version, the Mi 5s, and the Mi 5s Plus. Now, the company is gearing up to launch a new variant of the device, dubbed Mi 5c. There’s been a steady trickle of rumors around Xiaomi’s forthcoming smartphone, and a leaked poster has shed some light on its possible design and pricing details. The leaked poster, spotted by XiaomiToday, reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will be going on sale for RMB 999, which is roughly Rs 9,900. If the smartphone launches at this price range, it will be less than half the price of Mi 5, which is now available for Rs 20,000. However, this contradicts earlier rumors that hinted at a possible price tag of RMB 1,499, which is Rs 14,800 approximately. Based on the leaked renders we have come across, the Mi 5c looks pretty much like the Mi 5. The upcoming device is expected to be available in rose gold, gold, and black variants, and is expected to launch on December 12. However, we would suggest you to take this piece of information with a grain of salt, as nothing is official at the moment. Xiaomi Mi 5c specifications

From what we know so far, the Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to feature a 5.1-inch display, but certain reports claim it could come with a 5.5-inch full HD display instead. At the heart we can expect a 2.2GHz octa-core Pinecone processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Apart from offering connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, the smartphone is also said to support USB Type-C charging to transfer data and files. On the software front, the smartphone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.

There are some rumors, which claim that Mi 5c could boast a secondary E-Ink display. Electronic ink is a paper-like display technology which comes with high brightness, contrast, a wide-viewing angle and also has ultra-low power requirements.

The Mi 5c is not the only smartphone Xiaomi is rumored to be launching. Other smartphones in the pipeline are believed to be the Mi 6 and the Redmi 4. The Mi 6, as the name suggests will be the successor to this year’s Mi 5. While the specs of the upcoming smartphone are not clear at the moment, we have a slight hint as to how the device might look, thanks to the leaked photos that have surfaced online. The front shows 2.5D curved glass display and a physical home button at the bottom, which is also expected to double as a fingerprint scanner. The Mi 6 seems to have a dual tone design with metal back. The camera module with LED flash is placed at the top left corner, and it does not have the ugly bump.

On the other hand, the Redmi 4 is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor (eight Cortex A53 cores) clocked at 2GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. A variant with 16GB storage and 2GB of RAM is also expected. Rumors also point to the smartphone sporting a 5-inch full HD display and 4,100mAh battery. The smartphone is said to come with unibody metal design and fingerprint scanner at the back. On the connectivity front, it will come with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G LTE and with VoLTE. Pricing wise, the Redmi 4 could be priced at RMB 699, which is approximately Rs 7,050.
