While the Xiaomi invite does reveal some certain features and specifications, most of the details remain a mystery. The registrations are for the first flash sale of the smartphone, the date for which is yet unannounced but will either be on July 26 or in a day or two post the official unveiling. A Playfuldroid post reveals that the exact number of registrations for the handset is at 139,359 at the time of writing this and might have gone up subsequently. The registrations are entirely based on the few details revealed in the invite, without known the exact specifications of the smartphone. The large number does hint at the popularity Xiaomi enjoys in its homeland. Also Read - Redmi Note 10 price in India hiked again: Check the new price here

As registrations are only a way of expressing interest and there is no token amount required, the number of interested buyers register for a chance to be a part of the flash sale. All Xiaomi smartphones based on Android Nougat OS will be getting the split screen update (Android introduced the feature with Nougat OS) and most of the 2017 announcements are also likely to get the MIUI 9 update. Apart from that, an email shared by Xiaomi a couple of months ago, hinted at Picture-in-Picture coming to MIUI 9. It is unclear just how the function will be supported and whether older Xiaomi smartphones will be getting the new feature too. Screen recording is another rumored feature.
