Xiaomi s upcoming flagship smartphone the Mi 6 has been rumored aggressively so far. The smartphone was last reported to launch sometime in mid-March with its trial production starting from next month. However, some reports still suggest that Xiaomi would be launching the Mi 6 at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. While the Mi 6 has been rumored to launch in three variants, the latest buzz on the smartphone is that the highest variant will be clad in a ceramic body. Up until now, the rumor has been of the Mi 6 launching in three variants, but there has been some shuffling as to what the variants will be based on. The highest variant, which would be the most expensive one, is said to be powered by Qualcomm s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset and feature a dual-curved OLED display along with 6GB of RAM. This very variant of the Mi 6 is now said to be offered in a ceramic body, akin to Xiaomi s bezel-less Mi MIX. The Mi MIX launched last year, surely created waves with its bezel-less display and ceramic body, so if the rumor turns out to be true then the Mi 6 will surely turn heads as well.
Xiaomi Mi 6 specifications
Accumulating all the rumors and leaks so far, the Xiaomi Mi 6 could very well be powered by Qualcomm s 835 SoC with an OLED panel and 2K display. However, there is no word on the screen size as yet. The three variants of the Mi 6 could differ in terms of storage of RAM. To begin with, one variant is expected to feature a flat-screened display and come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The other variant could be powered by MediaTek s Helio X30 SoC and paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. This variant is also said to feature a flat-screened display. As for the highest variant with the expected dual-curved OLED display, it could come with 6GB of RAM and its storage could go up to 256GB. In the photography department, the Xiaomi Mi 6 could sport an upgraded 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX362 sensor. This sensor is found on smartphones like the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, whose cameras are now vouched as the best in the market. Up front, the smartphone could house a 4-megapixel selfie camera. There are some reports which hint at a dual-rear camera module on the high-end variant. The details on the battery capacity for the Mi 6 are scarce at the moment, but the Mi 6 could include a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. There have been reports suggesting the prices of the Mi 6 which could start at RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 19,800) for MediaTek version. The Qualcomm version with 4GB of RAM + 128GB storage could cost around RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,800), whereas the highest variant with dual-edge curved OLED display, 6GB of RAM +256GB storage could be priced at RMB 2,999 (approximately Rs 29,600).
