Xiaomi launched the Mi 6 smartphone in China earlier this year. At the time of launch, the company launched two variants of the phone- 64GB internal storage and 128GB storage, both paired with 6GB of RAM. Now, if the latest leak on TENAA is to go by, Xiaomi is preparing to launch a 64GB variant paired with 4GB of RAM as well. The device is currently said to be in the pipeline and is expected to launch on November 11. The TENAA listing, first spotted by My Fix Guide, reveals a new storage variant of the Mi 6 along with other specifications. Apart from the memory configuration, all other features and specifications of the phone remain the same. In terms of pricing, the new variant is likely to be priced at RMB 2,299 which is approximately Rs 22,600. The Mi 6 launched in April was priced at RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 23,400) for the 64GB variant with 6GB of RAM and RMB 2,899 (approximately Rs 27,100) for the 128GB variant. While Xiaomi did not bring the smartphone to India, there is no hope with the new variant either.
The USP of Xiaomi’s Mi 6 is its camera. At the rear is a dual-camera setup, which includes a pair of 12-megapixel snappers. With a similar function as that of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, the camera setup includes one 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, while the other is a 12-megapixel telephoto lens for 2x zoom. In terms of other specifications, the smartphone packs a 5.15-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. The smartphone is backed by a 3,350mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box on top of MIUI 8. However, we can expect Xiaomi to launch the new variant with MIUI 9.
