Xiaomi has finally taken the wraps off its new mid-range smartphone at an event in China. Called Mi 6X, the smartphone is a success to the Mi 5X that was launched last year, and it brings a number of improvements to the table. The Mi 5X in China ran on Android OS with MIUI skin on top, but the same smartphone was launched in India as Mi A1 and ran on stock Android One OS. The new Mi 6X is expected to launch in India as Mi A2 with Android One OS.

The Xaomi Mi 6X features a sleek design with a thickness of 7.3mm, and weighs 166grams. The back has a smooth curved finish to make it easier to grip. On the top, you have an IR blaster that lets you control home electronic devices such as TV, set-top-box, DVD player and air conditioning unit among others.

At the bottom, you have the USB Type-C port flanked by speaker grill on both the sides. And yes, Xiaomi has made a courageous move to ditch the legacy 3.5mm audio jack. Along the back, you have the vertically placed dual camera modules, with LED flash module in between. At the center, you have the circular fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
