Xiaomi is hosting an event in China on April 25, where it is expected to unveil the Mi 6X. Not surprisingly, there’s been a barrage of leaks in the run up to the event. The latest is an official teaser that shows off the back panel and a nice blue color variant of the upcoming smartphone.

The teaser has been put up on Weibo (spotted by Gizmochina), and shows the complete back panel of the Xiaomi Mi 6X. The first thing you notice is the nice blue color, which looks rather attractive. Also seen are the Apple iPhone X-like vertically aligned dual-camera setup, and the fingerprint sensor. Like its predecessor, the antenna lines are placed at the top and bottom edges of the smartphone.

The teaser also hints at 20-megapixel camera sensors at the back as well as the front. This is in line with what has been leaked before, which too have hinted at a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor at the front. At the back, apart from the 20-megapixel sensor there is also expected to be a 12-megapixel sensor. The cameras on the smartphone are also expected to boast some AI-capabilities.

The Xiaomi Mi 6X, as the name suggests, will be the successor to last year’s Mi 5X. The upcoming device is expected to bring in a good set of cameras, and a more contemporary design with edge-to-edge display.

Xiaomi Mi 6X rumored specifications, features

The smartphone was recently spotted on TENAA, which revealed the expected specifications and features. The Xiaomi Mi 6X is expected to feature a 5.99-inch LCD display with full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device will be a Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at 2GHz. There are likely to be three variants – 32GB storage with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage with 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage with 6GB RAM.

Watch: Xiaomi Mi A1 launch details

On the software front, the Mi 6X is expected to run MIUI based on Android Oreo. When launched as the rebranded Mi A2 in India, the smartphone will run stock Android, as it will be a part of Google’s Android One program.
