Xiaomi has long been rumored to make its presence felt at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) with the launch of a new smartphone. While for the longest time we have been hearing the Mi 7 is being launched, recently it was rumored that Xiaomi may keep the smartphone unveiling for April, and showcase the Mi MIX 2s at the MWC instead. Regardless, the Mi 7 will be the company’s flagship of the year and most eyes remain on it. And in between all the anticipation, a screenshot of the specifications of what is believed to be the Mi 7 have been leaked, which was first spotted by PlayfulDroid. The leaked image reveals that the purported smartphone will come with 8GB of RAM and will be fueled by 4,480mAh battery. To draw a comparison, the Xiaomi Mi 6 came with options of 4GB and 6GB of RAM and a 3,350mAh battery underneath. Among other revealed specification is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, which has already been confirmed by the company executives. Besides, the leak suggests the smartphone to sport a dual-camera setup at the rear, with a combination of two 16-megapixel cameras.
Further, the Xiaomi Mi 7 has been leaked to feature a tall 5.6-inch screen with FullHD+ resolution, and an 18:9 aspect ratio, keeping with the trends. The device is also expected to feature a storage capacity of 128GB. It is unknown if that will be further expandable or not.
The screenshot also claims that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will run MIUI 8.1.30x, which means the build is from January 30, 2018, not an old UI version. The company already updated 40 devices, including some 5-year old Mi phones to MIUI 9, so it’s impossible that the Mi 7 will run on older UI.
