Xiaomi is less than 5 days away from its annual event on May 31 where it is expected to finally take the wraps off the Mi 8 (or Mi 8 Anniversary Edition) smartphone, MIUI 10 custom skin and the Mi Band 3 wearable. Ahead of the launch, we have come across leaked video showing the front and back of the alleged Mi 8, and now the specifications have surfaced too.
According to a leaked document acquired by Techienize, the Mi 8 will come with a 6.2-inch full HD+ display running at a resolution of 2280x1080pixels and a notch on top, with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC with 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

In the photography department, it will come with a 16-megapixel front camera of f/2.0 aperture, and a dual camera setup at the back. It will comprise of a 20-megapixel primary sensor of aperture f/1.7, with a 16-megapixel secondary sensor of aperture f/2.0. To keep things ticking, a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 will be in tow.
For biometric authentication, leaks have hinted that the Mi 8 will come with an under-display fingerprint sensor. We have also come across a leaked video showing how it will work and unlock the device. It is also expected to come with 3D face recognition system, just like the Apple iPhone X. Now, it remains to be seen what all features finally make it to the smartphone when it goes official on May 29.
